Calling it a French Lincoln is a disservice.

It’s more of a French Packard, I was just thinking Conti because of the suicide doors and square shape.

Calling it a French Packard is much closer, since Studebaker came close to a deal with Facel to rebadge their cars as Packards in the early ‘60s.

If only that happened. Shame they had to die out by selling rebadged Hawks.

Right, well SP had a marketing agreement with Mercedes at the time in which fledgling SP dealers sold Benzes. Had the Facel deal gone through, M-B probably would have pulled out of their deal with SP for fielding a competitor to their lineup.
